Exmoor Horn knitting wool is pure wool, 100% natural, 100% renewable, 100% sustainable, 100% biodegradable, and good for the planet. Need we say more? Additionally, for those supporters of natural fibres, especially native breed wool, this will make you happy.
This double knitting wool is grown on Exmoor by Exmoor Horn sheep and brought to you through a collaboration between the Exmoor Sheep Breeders Society and the Exmoor National Park Partnership Fund.
As well as keeping the purity as high as possible, this wool comes dyed in the colours of the Exmoor landscape. Also, connoisseurs of the wide variety of British wool types will appreciate the robust, hard-wearing, though soft, qualities of Exmoor Horn wool. As a result, it is ideally suited for pullovers, jackets, tank tops, waistcoats, and the like.

I got two jumper quantities of Exmoor a while back, I’ve used Whortleberry to knit up a Hinterm Stein cardigan which I am wearing to death. It’s a great sturdy yarn with beautiful stitch definition. It was a great deal when I got it, but now, on sale, it’s an absolute steal.
Dear ' wool on the ex'
Yarn arrived today, just what I'm looking for.
A robust DK, pure and ideal for outer garment.
Now to plan my project and colours.
Be in touch in the new year.
Happy Christmas xx
I used the Bossington Barley to crochet a blanket, the colour is subtle yet deep, and it washes up so incredibly soft. I made it for our bedroom but it now lives on the sofa!
We're so happy that you love the yarn
